Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
CNAs are the entry-level credential for bedside nursing care. Unlike medical assistants, CNAs typically work under RN or LPN supervision and focus on ADLs, hygiene, mobility, and vital signs in inpatient and long-term-care environments. ExamReady maintains a separate CNA site because the scope of practice, exam content, and state regulatory framework are distinct from the CCMA.
Who is this credential for?
Direct-care staff who assist patients with activities of daily living in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, and home-health settings under the direction of a licensed nurse.
Renewal requirements
Annual in-service or continuing-education hours set by the state board of nursing; some states require recertification by exam after lapses.
